With 18-hole rounds of 72 and 71, Gainesville’s Hudson Justus won the Donald Ross Jr. championship Thursday on Pinehurst No. 3 in Pinehurst, N.C.
At 3-over par for the two-day event, the 10-year-old who attends Mount Vernon Elementary, won by four strokes over two other boys from Georgia.
The Donald Ross Jr. Championship is designed for some of the elite 10-and 11-year-old players from across the globe to showcase their talent.
This week, the course was frozen in spots and played more than 5,200 yards.
