The University of Georgia will open the 2012 football season with a home game against Buffalo on Sept. 1 in Athens, as announced in the new schedule released Wednesday.

The following week, the Bulldogs open SEC play with a trip to new conference rival Missouri on Sept. 8 in Columbia, Mo.

The Bulldogs' other two non-conference games include Florida Atlantic on Sept. 15 in Athens, and Georgia Southern on Nov. 17 at Sanford Stadium.

Georgia (10-3) wraps up the 2011 season against Michigan State in the Outback Bowl at 1 p.m. Monday in Tampa, Fla. The game will be shown on ABC.
