Larsyn Reid and Mollie Langner scored first half goals for the Flowery Branch High girls as it rallied past Columbus, 2-1, in the Class 4A girls soccer state semifinals Tuesday at Kennett Stadium in Columbus. With the win, the Lady Falcons (18-2-2) will face St. Pius X for the state championship on either Friday or Saturday. Game time and location is still to be determined by the Georgia High School Association.

“Right now, we’re all really excited to be going to the championship game,” Flowery Branch coach Anel Lilic said. “We’ve had great support all season, support from the school administration and fans.”

This marks Flowery Branch’s first appearance in the state championship match, according to Lilic.

Despite giving up the first strike, Flowery Branch remained on the attack, continuing to create opportunities, according to Lilic.

The state semifinal marks the 16th straight without losing for the Lady Falcons.

Flowery Branch’s last loss was against Class 7A Walton, a 3-1 decision, on March 6.
