Bailey Ulp finished with a final-round 78 and won the two-day Royal Lakes Championship with a 146 on Sunday. Ulp set the stage for his second club championship with a first-round 68. He won by seven shots over Matt Shukstor and Mike Bennett (153). Kristian Martin finished fourth in the championship flight (159), while Robbie Bailey earned fifth place (161).
In the women’s championship, Elizabeth Stauffer had rounds of 88 and 92 to win with a two day total (180), one shot ahead of Shantelle Stauffer.
In the men’s first flight, Andy Todd shot a final-round 71 to win with a 144. Eddie Clark and Bobby Jones tied for second (150).
In the second flight, Frank Hunt carded a final-round 70, winning with a total of 141. Stu LaRoche was second (143).
In the men’s silver and gold division, Bob Reynolds carded a final-round 64 and finished with a total of 136, one stroke ahead of Jack Kenney (137). Tim Donovan won the second flight (134).
In the ladies’ red tee division, Mary Gruwell won with net scores of 75 and 66 for a two-day total of 141. Kristine Sampson earned second (162).
THREE GAINESVILLE HIGH GOLFERS PLACE AT CHATTAHOOCHEE JUNIOR CLASSIC: Gainesville High junior Ryan Hogan carded rounds of 74 and 76 to earn second place in the 16-18 division at the Chattahoochee Junior Classic on Sunday in Gainesville. Red Elephants teammates Davis Weaver and Brody Simmons both finished 1-over par in the final round and tied for fourth at 151.
John Baker, of Cumming, birdied each of the first three holes on the final round and won the title with a two-day total of 146.
In the 11-13 division, Sam Patterson, from Gainesville, finished fourth with a two-day total of 157.
