It has been almost 17 years since the 1996 Olympic Games brought rowing to the area, but the Lake Lanier Rowing Club continues to shine for some of the sport’s biggest events. The club is in high demand at the collegiate level these days, serving as host for the American Collegiate Rowing Association National Championship regatta. The event, which is the premier series of races for club-level college rowing teams, has come to Gainesville for the last three years.
