Gainesville's Ralston finishes second in Wells Fargo Junior Classic

Gainesville High golfer Spencer Ralston shot a 4-under 68 on Sunday to finish tied for second overall in the Wells Fargo Junior Classic at The Country Club of the South in Johns Creek.

Ralston carded a 68 in both rounds of the two-day event, which featured 54 boys golfers ages 15-18. He finished two strokes behind winner John Augenstein of Owensboro, Ky.

The University of Georgia commit finished the front nine with three birdies and a 33. He shot a 35 on the final back nine.

Ralston, a sophomore at Gainesville, is the two-time defending Hall County champion. He will compete alongside the rest of the Red Elephants at the Class AAAAA state tournament on May 19 at Bartram Trail Golf Club in Evans.
