Local colleges: North Georgia women fall

Despite a game-high 24 points for Lady Saint and Gainesville grad Jaymee Carnes, the North Georgia College & State University women’s basketball team dropped its third game in a row Saturday afternoon, falling 74-61 to Lenoir-Rhyne University to open the Loch Shop Classic at Clayton State University in Morrow. North Georgia (1-4) went 25 of 78 from the field while Lenoir-Rhyne went 31 of 63, including 5 of 12 from three-point range, helping to lift the Bears to the victory. The Saints only managed to shoot 5 for 23 from beyond the three-point arc.
