The North Georgia College & State University baseball team erupted for nine runs in the top half of the sixth inning en route to a 14-6 victory over South Carolina-Aiken in the finale of the Carolina Outdoors Classic on Sunday at Roberto Hernandez Stadium.

The Saints (4-2) won their third straight game, scoring 14 or more runs for the second straight day.

They were led by Jordan Erisman’s winning effort on the mound as well as strong games at the plate for Eason Spivey and Dustin Carpenter. Spivey finished with three RBIs, while Carpenter had two.

The Saints return to the diamond on Wednesday, when they travel to Carrollton, Georgia, to take on 

West Georgia.

SAINTS SOFTBALL NOTCHES TWO WINS: The North Georgia softball team won two games on Sunday, giving it a perfect 4-0 record on the young season.

The Saints topped Bellarmine in the first game, 4-2, and then defeated Tusculum for the second time this weekend in the finale of the Loyal Blue Classic.

Freshman pitcher Melissa Dickie took home the win in the first game, earning the first victory of her career.

She pitched five-plus innings and surrendered only two runs.

Jessica Coan picked up the win in the second game with a solid seven-inning effort.

The Saints will take on Mars Hill in a doubleheader on Wednesday.
