FLOWERY BRANCH — The Atlanta Falcons signed former Georgia Tech safety Jamal Lewis and two more rookie free agents on Monday and released linebacker Earl Everett and safety Nick Turnbull.

The Falcons signed Lewis, wide receiver Tony Gonzalez and safety Eric Brock after the three were part of a group who participated in a three-day minicamp last week on a tryout basis.

The other undrafted rookies invited to the tryout, including running back Chad Hall of Air Force and Wesleyan School in Norcross, near Atlanta, were not signed by the Falcons.

Lewis (5-11, 199), had 74 tackles as a senior to rank third on Georgia Tech’s team.

Gonzalez (5-10, 192) had 89 career catches for 1,186 yards and 12 touchdowns at Boston College and now joins his college quarterback, Matt Ryan, who was the Falcons’ first-round pick in April.

Brock (6-2, 204) had 59 tackles for Auburn last season.
