Oconee County led at halftime and held off West Hall for a 35-31 win in Region 8-AAA South play on Friday night in Watkinsville.

West Hall trailed 28-23 at the break, and fell behind by two scores before trimming the lead to four points midway through the fourth quarter.

A.J. Stephens scored four total touchdowns on the night, two rushing, one receiving and one on a 97-yard kickoff return for the Spartans. He had 83 yards rushing yards and 82 yards receiving.

West Hall's Chandler Newton threw for 208 yards and a touchdown. Ten of Newton's 21 completions were caught by Zach English for 94 yards.

Oconne County (3-4, 1-2 Region 8-AAA South) hosts Johnson next Friday.

The Spartans (2-5, 2-1) will play thier final regular season road game as they travel to Monroe Area next Friday.
