East Hall’s Edward Vergara ran for over 100 yards with two touchdowns for the Vikings in a 28-20 win over Chattooga on Friday in Summerville. The Vikings started out sluggish, according to head coach Bryan Gray, but were able to comeback behind Vergara’s power running, some strong plays by Xavier Hughey and an interception by Milton Whelchel. In the first quarter, Chattooga brought back an interception to score on the next play, and after some major turnovers, the Vikings were down 7-0 at the half.
