No. 1-ranked Buford rolled to a 59-13 win over Decatur on Friday.
The Wolves (7-0) held a 52-0 lead at the half with only 158 yards of offense but scored in every facet of the game. Cameron Gazaway picked up a punt and ran it into the end zone for Buford. On special teams, Thomas Wilson had a 55-yard punt return for a score.
Buford kicker David Petroni hit his first field goal of the night, a 23-yarder, and hit all of his extra points, moving him to 45-45 on the year.
The Wolves’ C.J. Moore scored on a scoop-and-score of 55 yards when the defense forced a fumble.
Offensively, Nathan Staub scored on a 7-yard touchdown run and a 6-yard pass from Sam Clay for Buford. Rick Legrant was the Wolves’ leading rusher with two touchdowns on two carries for 65 yards.
Buford (7-0, 1-0 6-AA) plays Thursday at Clarkston.
