A Gainesville man was injured and a woman riding with him was killed Saturday, Feb. 10, when authorities say their car crossed the center line on Browns Bridge Road in Forsyth County and struck a pickup truck.
Wachovia Thompson, 26, of the city of Forsyth, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a news release from the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.
The driver of the car, Ryan Travanti Stephens, 34, was transported to a hospital. The driver of the pickup truck, Paul Stewart, 43, of Cumming, and two juveniles riding with him also were injured and taken to a hospital. Authorities said their injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
The Sheriff’s Office reported that Stephens lost control of a 2002 Infiniti and crossed the center line while heading eastbound on Browns Bridge Road near Floyd Lane just before 3 p.m. Thompson was riding in the front passenger seat when the Infiniti hit a 2006 Chevrolet K3500 traveling west on Browns Bridge Road.
