A Flowery Branch man was arrested Monday night after officials say he fled from state troopers and crashed his motorcycle.

A state trooper attempted to stop 19-year-old Bryant Chad Baker for speeding on Highway 365 near Mud Creek Road about 8:50 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, according to Cpl. Maj. D. Patterson of Georgia State Patrol Post 6 in Gainesville.

In an email release, Patterson wrote that Baker fled on his motorcycle and traveled north on Highway 365 for approximately six miles before attempting to turn left onto Duncan Bridge Road in Habersham County. Baker then crashed into a raised concrete median in the intersection, according to Patterson.

Baker was taken into custody and transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville by Habersham County EMS for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Baker was released the same evening and transported to the Hall County Jail.

Baker was charged with felony fleeing and attempting to elude, reckless driving, obstruction, speeding, driving on the wrong side of the road, failure to maintain lane and several other traffic offenses.
