Hall County sheriff's deputies arrested three men in connection with the single-vehicle crash Monday at Mountain View Park off Browns Bridge Road.

The driver of the vehicle, Joel Casey Ledford, 32, of Gainesville, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, giving false statements and criminal attempt to commit false report of a crime. Donald David Roak, 21, of Gainesville and Jeremy William Barnes, 23, of Flowery Branch were also arrested and charged with giving false statements.

Witnesses reported to officers that a 2006 Ford Mustang was being driven recklessly in the park and wrecked after spinning its wheels around 4 p.m., said Col. Jeff Strickland, sheriff's office spokesman.

Three passengers were seen running from the car, which caught on fire, he said. The men were arrested after trying to report the vehicle stolen, Strickland said.
