The first work week of January brought bitter cold temperatures to North Georgia. The second week will bring rain.
The good news so far: The cold and wet aren't coming at the same time.
As temperatures warm slightly, clouds will bring showers to the area beginning Sunday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service forecast. Light rain could begin after lunchtime and continue through the afternoon with a high of 41.
Occasional rain will continue Sunday night with a low in the mid 30s. Monday through Wednesday brings more of the same: A chance of showers with highs in the mid to upper 40s and overnight lows in the mid-30s.
