An Oakwood man was charged this week with the rape of an 18-year-old woman, police said.
Alexander Medrano, 19, was charged with rape, false imprisonment and misdemeanor sexual battery. He was booked Wednesday into the Hall County Jail, where he remains.
No attorney was listed with the Magistrate Court’s office.
According to the report, the victim and her mother met with Oakwood Police investigators at the police department June 30 for an incident two days earlier.
Sgt. Danny Sridej said Medrano was charged with false imprisonment for allegedly “not allowing her to leave a bedroom and holding her down without authority or consent.”
According to police, Medrano is an acquaintance of the victim and the family.
