The tourism industry honored one of its most passionate supporters during National Travel and Tourism Week on May 8 as the Dahlonega-Lumpkin County Chamber & Visitors Bureau presented longstanding tourism advocate Bill Hardman with the Tourism Industry Icon Award.
Hardman is the president and CEO of the Southeast Tourism Society. His late father was Georgia’s first tourism director.
The award recognizes Hardman’s significant service and contributions to the tourism industry, including his leadership of Southeast Tourism Society since 1997.
Prior to being appointed as president and CEO of Southeast Tourism Society, Hardman was president and CEO of Atlanta’s DeKalb Convention & Visitors Bureau from 1987-1997.
