More overnight lane closures set for I-985 construction

More lane closures are scheduled for evening hours next week on Interstate 985 as the new Exit 14 interchange takes shape.

Department of Transportation crews will be grading the new off ramps at the South Hall exit. Single lanes will be closed to northbound traffic between 8 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. between mile posts 13.1 and 14.1 between Flowery Branch and Oakwood.

In addition, lane closures are scheduled Aug. 6-10 for related work at the following times and locations:

I-985 northbound between Exit 12/Spout Springs Road and Exit 16/Ga. 53/ Mundy Mill Road, 8 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 6, through Thursday, Aug. 9; 9 p.m. to 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10  

Flagging operation at Martin Road and Ga. 13/Falcon Parkway from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday,

The Exit 14 interchange is scheduled to be completed Aug. 31, 2019 at a cost of $33 million.
