Inclement weather caused law enforcement to suspend a search Friday for a missing woman last seen Wednesday at Lanier Point Park off Dawsonville Highway.

Gainesville Police Sgt. Kevin Holbrook said the search for Lizeth Ruby Ruiz, 23, was suspended around noon Friday because of weather conditions.

Ruiz was last seen Wednesday night with friends at the park when she got separated from the group.

“We’re coordinating with the Department of Natural Resources, the dive team and the search teams to reconvene Monday,” Holbrook said.

Authorities searched the area near the lakeside complex Thursday before suspending the search that evening.
