JEFFERSON — The Jefferson City Schools Board of Education added and lost system staff members during Wednesday’s special called meeting.
The board approved the 2009-10 certified personnel staff list during the meeting.
Among the staff positions approved were two new teachers for both the middle and high schools.
April Howard, who currently works in the Jackson County school system, also was hired as the new director of middle and secondary instruction. That position recently was vacated by Donna McMullan, who is replacing Sherrie Gibney-Sherman as the school system’s associate superintendent. Gibney-Sherman will retire at the end of this school year.
The board also accepted resignations for two staff positions. Those positions were for a high school paraprofessional and an elementary school cafeteria monitor.
The meeting was held in the school board meeting room in the performance arts center at Jefferson High School on Washington Street.
During the meeting, the board also approved adopting new textbooks for the high school level Math I, II and III classes.
