A houseboat was destroyed in a Tuesday night fire at Holiday Marina.

A 60-foot houseboat was destroyed Tuesday night in a fire at Holiday Marina.

The fire was raging when Hall County Fire Services responded to the 11:50 p.m. call at the marina on Lanier Islands Parkway in South Hall, according to Capt. Zachary Brackett, spokesman for the fire department. He said a man in his 30s was asleep on the boat, woke up, smelled the smoke and got to safety. No injuries were reported.

Firefighters extinguished the fire. Brackett said the fire threatened two other boats as well, which received minor damage.

Brackett said the cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

Elexus Sachse, who answered the phone at the marina, said they had no comment.
