Four principal moves and two additional vacancies have been announced in Hall County Schools.
Superintendent Will Schofield announced the changes Thursday. Faculty members at each school were notified about the changes.
The moves of principals are subject to school board approval at Monday’s meeting.
Vacancies exist at Lula Elementary School and Martin Technology Academy. Schofield said those vacancies will be posted and a search process started.
The changes are:
• Shane Rayburn, principal at North Hall Middle School, will become a district special education coordinator. It is one of several special education coordinator positions and is vacant, Schofield said.
• Tamara Etterling, principal at Martin Technology Academy, will move to North Hall Middle School.
• Pam Doig, principal at McEver Arts Academy, moves to Wauka Mountain Multiple Intelligences Academy. She replaces Jo Dinnan, who was earlier announced as the new director of elementary schools.
• Matthew Alexander, principal at Lula Elementary School, becomes principal at McEver.
Rayburn has been principal at North Hall Middle since 2013. He also was principal at Oakwood Elementary School and assistant principal at Flowery Branch Elementary.
He received a doctor of philosophy degree from the University of Georgia. He has a master’s degree from Augusta State University and a Bachelor of Science from Georgia State University.
Etterling has been the Martin principal since 2005. She was an assistant principal at Chestnut Mountain Creative School of Inquiry. She taught special education at East Hall Middle School and Chestnut Mountain.
She got her education specialist degree from Lincoln Memorial University, master’s at North Georgia College and her Bachelor of Arts from Jacksonville State University.
Doig is in her first year as principal at McEver. She came to Hall County after being principal at two elementary schools in the Troup County school system. She also was an assistant principal at an elementary school in Harris County and was a teacher at two schools in Troup County.
She received her Ed.S degree from Troy State University in 1998, master’s from the University of West Georgia and Bachelor Science from the University of Georgia.
Alexander has been principal at Lula since 2008. He was assistant principal at Chicopee Woods Elementary School from 2005-08.
Alexander earned an educational specialist degree in 2002 at North Georgia College and State University. He received his master’s from North Georgia College and his Bachelor of Arts from Emory University. He also has the English for speakers of other languages endorsement.
