A Braselton repair shop owner was found unresponsive on the floor of his business by authorities Friday.

Eric Adams, 32, was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, where he was pronounced dead. Adams was the owner of Adams Motorsports on Lewis Braselton Boulevard.

Jackson County Sheriff Janis Mangum requested the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s assistance in the case.

“Medical staff at the hospital noted a suspicious injury consistent with a gunshot wound and contacted law enforcement,” according to the GBI news release.

The man’s body was sent to the GBI crime lab for an autopsy, which led investigators to rule the death as a homicide.

Braselton Police and the Jackson County coroner’s office are also assisting in the case.
