Gainesville man wins Cadillac in lottery
Winning tickets were purchased in Dawsonville
Georgia Lottery winner Hans Deneergaard of Gainesville and his wife, Beth, with the new Cadillac CTS coupe he won in the Cadillac Riches instant game.

One Gainesville man is rolling in the dough and around town in a new car after winning the lottery.

The Georgia Lottery presented Hans Deneergaard with an oversized check and the keys to his brand new Cadillac CTS coupe Wednesday morning.

He won the luxury car by playing the lottery’s instant-win game Cadillac Riches.

Since the vehicle he chose was worth less than the prize of $79,000 he was given a check for $29,934 to make up the difference.

Deneergaard purchased the winning ticket from Harmony Church Chevron on Ga. 400 in Dawsonville.

Deneergaard told lottery officials he bought two tickets on a whim, according to a press release.

“I stopped and decided to purchase two tickets and they both turned out to be winners,” Deneergaard said.

He won an additional $10 from the other scratch-off ticket.

Deneergaard, a business analyst and father of a teenage son, said he was stunned.

“I showed it to the clerk to verify and he said ‘Yeah, you won a Cadillac,’” Deneergaard said.

He said he went online to research his new car and started drooling.
