Gainesville man charged with manufacturing, distributing false documents

David Regalado Alcantar, 33, of Gainesville, was charged Thursday with manufacturing and distribution of false documents and first-degree forgery.

The arrest wrapped up an undercover investigation that began in the spring. The suspect delivered two lease agreements, one fraudulent Texas Birth Certificate and one fraudulent Social Security Card to an undercover agent at a location on Mundy Mill Road in exchange for $500, according to a news release from the Hall County Sheriff's Office.

The suspect also had a fraudulent Georgia Identification card that showed his photo with a different name, according to the release. Alcantar also was in the country illegally, according to the sheriff's office. Alcantar was booked at the Hall County Jail.

The Hall County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigative Division, the Multi Agency Narcotics Squad, the Gang Task Force and the Hall County Sheriff's Office Uniformed Patrol Division were involved in the arrest.
