Roadwork may affect traffic on Spout Springs Road on Wednesday.
Contractors will be doing soil tests in preparation for the planned road widening in South Hall. They’ll be working 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. along the roadway between Hog Mountain Road and Castlegate Drive, as well as Capitola Farm Road and Lake Sterling Boulevard.
The work may continue Thursday if needed. In case of inclement weather, the work will be postponed a week.
Flaggers will direct traffic around any lane closures.
Right of way acquisition work was approved in March for the widening project. Construction could start in 2019 on the first phase between Hog Mountain Road and Union Circle.
The second phase would run from Union Circle to the Gwinnett County line, with right of way acquisition planned for 2019.
