Emergency funds may help pay for senior services

Hall County senior services may get an infusion of cash to make up for federal budget cuts, but a state-imposed waiting list on the Meals on Wheels program stays for now. Gainesville City Council at its Tuesday meeting will consider approving about $84,000 in emergency funds to shore up the Gainesville-Hall Community Service Center. Sequestration, which is automatic federal budget cuts that began March 1, will total $1.2 trillion in the coming decade.
