Beginning Monday night, Interstate 985 motorists might experience delays traveling southbound through Exit 14 construction.

Traffic is scheduled to narrow to one lane between Exit 17 in Oakwood and Exit 12 in Flowery Branch overnight between 7 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.

The left lane will be closed so that the inside shoulder can be paved, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.

The work will continue until the morning of Saturday, Jan. 19.

“Drivers are reminded to slow down when entering the work zone and plan ahead as these single-lane closures may cause delays,” the DOT said in an email.

The $34 million interchange project is expected to be completed later this year.
