A Connecticut man is being held without bond at the Hall County Jail on charges related to a Sunday morning stabbing.

A first-appearance hearing is set this morning for Dustin William Gold, 31, who is accused of stabbing 38-year-old Marcus Fox of Los Angeles in the stomach, said Sgt. Kiley Sargent, spokesman for the Hall County Sheriff's Office.

Gold is charged with aggravated battery.

The incident took place in a home in the 5000 block of Hulsey Circle before 6:15 a.m., when deputies responded to the scene.

Witnesses said the two men had been working together since Thursday and the stabbing resulted from a verbal argument that turned violent.

Fox, taken by ambulance to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, was in serious condition Monday afternoon, the hospital said.

Further details about events leading up to the stabbing weren't available Monday.
