Newsmakers in business: Nicholas Bruner named a partner at Rushton & Company local accounting firm

Rushton & Company has named Nicholas Bruner, a certified public accountant, as a partner at its Northeast Georgia-based accounting and business consulting firm.

Bruner, who serves as director of corporate audit and consulting, specializes in for-profit corporate audits and reviews. He also maintains international audit standards for the firm and educates Rushton staff on new accounting standards and financial statement presentation.

“We are excited to have Nick become a partner in our firm,” said Chris Hollifield, Rushton’s managing partner. “His knowledge of accounting and understanding the specific needs of each client has been an asset for our clients and our firm.”

Bruner, who joined Rushton & Company in 2005, is a CPA, certified fraud examiner and certified valuation analyst. He currently serves as the president of the Georgia Society of CPAs Northeast Chapter.

Bruner is the president of the Gainesville Jaycees. He also serves on the board of directors for Junior Achievement of Georgia — Northeast District, and the United Way of Hall County Finance Committee.
