The Gene Haas Foundation recently presented a check for $15,000 to the machine tool technology program at Lanier Technical College. The donation will go to the program and the students with corresponding majors at the college.
The program will use some of the money to complete the National Institute for Metalworking Skills accreditation, which will help the MTT student graduates receive NIMS certificates to help in getting jobs.
The Haas company makes high-precision computer numeric controlled equipment used to make medical parts and other parts for NASA.
