Patricia Henderson, special education coordinator of Gainesville City School System, received the 2016 Philip Wright Award.
Henderson was one of 14 recipients within the region recognized at the 15th annual Philip Wright Awards Ceremony in Cleveland.
The employees are recognized for their service, commitment and advocacy of children with disabilities. The award honors Wright’s legacy of highlighting his commitment to improving education services for students with disabilities.
Michael Enright, director of special education, said Henderson took the lead in many district initiatives and is a dedicated team member.
