More than 70 Brenau University nursing students met had the opportunity to meet with state legislators at the annual Georgia Nursing Association’s Legislative Day on Feb. 4. Attendees were able to discuss nursing-related topics with their state legislators.
District 45 state Sen. Renee Unterman, a registered nurse, discussed how nurses can take a more active role in shaping public policy. Georgia Board of Nursing President Brenda Rowe updated attendees on board autonomy over nursing licensure fees.
Students had a chance to “page” their respective state senators and representatives and meet the men and women responsible for making the laws, rules and regulations that affect Georgia’s health care industry.
