An early taste of winter is on the way with a cold start to the Thanksgiving holiday week, according to the National Weather Service.

Cold winds will drop temperatures overnight Saturday into the low 30s in Northeast Georgia, with wind gusts up to 30 mph possible.

Sunday's forecast high is only 42 under sunny skies. Lows will dip into the upper 20s overnight Sunday, with Monday no warmer, highs only reaching the low 40s.

A chance of rain returns Monday night with a low of 37, with a cold, rainy forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday.

The longer range forecast calls for a cool, clear Thanksgiving Day.
