Lula farmer chosen to AgGeorgia credit board
Bobby G. Miller of Lula was among those elected to the AgGeorgia Farm Credit's board of directors.
Each director serves three-year terms on the board for the agricultural lending cooperative.
Miller has owned and operated Silver Creek Farms since 1973, raising brood cows, corn and hay and commercial pullets. He manages RGM Foothills Properties, HR Miller LLC and Jan-Ann-Rob LLC. He is a graduate of Gainesville College and the University of Georgia.
Miller is a member of the Georgia Cattlemens Association and has served on the executive committee and was state president in 1989; a member and past president of Banks County Cattlemens Association and the Hall County Farm Bureau.
Miller and his wife, Gale, have three daughters.
Gainesville resident joins health care fund group
Gainesville resident Josh Schlieman, co-founder of Alpharetta-based Sullivan & Schlieman Wealth Management LLC, has been appointed a member of the Annual Fund Committee for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
Schlieman's co-founder, Andrew Sullivan, also has been named to the committee. They will help raise awareness and procure resources to further the mission of CHOA.
Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, a not-for-profit organization, is one of the largest clinical care providers for children in the country and is ranked among the top children's hospitals by U.S. News & World Report.
"Andrew and I are excited about lending our expertise to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta's Annual Fund Committee," Schlieman said. "Children's Healthcare is renowned for the expert medical treatment and care they provide children suffering from even the most challenging medical conditions. We hope our support of their efforts will help them continue their good work."
Area Realtor chosen as ‘Thousand Top' in nation
Becky Fauscett's team of Keller Williams Realty Lanier Partners of Gainesville was named one of America's top real estate professional teams by The Wall Street Journal and REAL Trends.
The Fauscett Team is now a member of the The Thousand Top Real Estate Professionals, a national awards ranking sponsored annually by the two publications. It is now ranked in the top one half of 1 percent of the more than 1 million Realtors nationwide.
The rankings were announced Sept. 6 with four categories honoring the top 250 residential agents and agent teams for excellence. Fauscett's firm ranked No. 221 in the nation in Team Professionals transaction sides.
"I am absolutely thrilled to be named to The Thousand," said Fauscett, who serves clients in Hall, Forsyth, Gwinnett, Dawson, White and Jackson counties. "Even with the market's challenges, its incredibly gratifying to help clients find their dream homes as well as help them sell their properties quickly and for the highest price possible."

Holiday Business After Hours set Thursday
The Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Holiday Business After Hours and Downtown Gainesville Mingle Jingle from 5-8 p.m. Thursday on the Gainesville Square.
The event is sponsored by Main Street Gainesville and is open to the public. Shops around the square will be open late with holiday specials and treats including Santa on the Square, food, drink and carolers.
