Braselton man accused of distributing lewd image of a child

A Braselton man was accused of having and distributing a lewd image of a girl, according to authorities.

The case concerning Mason Alexander Burch, 24, started after a cyber-tip from the Georgia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Detectives found Burch allegedly “used his computer to possess and distribute a lewd image of a female child displaying her body” Nov. 8, said Hall County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Derreck Booth.

Hall County investigators obtained warrants for Burch Thursday, Jan. 2 and arrested him the same day. They also searched his Forest Way home and “seized several electronic devices from the home that are subject to forensic processing,” Booth said.

Burch was charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of children. According to the Hall County online database, he has a bond set at $8,100.

Attorney information was not available for Burch Friday, Jan. 3.

The case is still under investigation.
