A Buford man is charged with stealing more than $12,000 worth of property in incidents on Lakeshore Road.

Among the items he allegedly stole were multiple lawnmowers, weed eaters and leaf blowers.

Matthew Brady, 26, faces charges of eight counts of second-degree burglary and four counts of theft by taking, plus a charge of giving false information to an officer in the course of an investigation.

Hall County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Chad Mann said Brady “gave a false name to an officer in attempts to make them believe that he was someone else.”

The Sheriff’s Office said most of the property stolen by Brady has been recovered from multiple pawn shops throughout Hall County and in other jurisdictions.

Brady was arrested  Jan. 20 and booked in to the Hall County Jail, where he remained Tuesday night.

The Sheriff’s Office and surrounding law enforcement agencies from other counties continue to investigate the case, as more charges are possible.
