A Hall County man is accused of sexually assaulting a woman and dragging her through gravel, according to authorities.

Peter James Arnaud, 33, was charged with aggravated sexual battery by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office. He was booked Thursday, June 28, in to the Hall County Jail, where he remains.

Lt. Scott Ware said Arnaud allegedly struck the woman June 27 with a cellphone “sexually assaulted her and dragged her through gravel” at a residence on Clarks Bridge Road.

“As the victim attempted to call 911 for help, Arnaud took the phone away from her and broke it,” Ware said in a news release.

Ware said two children were able to hear the alleged act.

Sheriff’s office investigators also obtained arrest warrants for battery under the Family Violence Act, third-degree child cruelty, second-degree criminal damage to property and obstruction of an emergency call.

No attorney information was available for Arnaud with Magistrate Court officials Friday, June 29.
