Miss Kristin Elizabeth Simmons and Mr. Robert Clark Ferguson Jr. were united in marriage at 4 p.m. Sept. 10, 2011, at First Presbyterian Church church in Highlands, N.C. The bride is the daughter of the late Mr. Gregory McKittrick Simmons and Mrs. Christine Anderson Simmons of Atlanta. The groom is the son of Mr. Robert Clark Ferguson Sr. and Mrs. Julie Cottrill Ferguson of Gainesville.

Dr. W. Scott Weimer performed the ceremony.

The bride was presented in marriage by her brother Mr. Gregory McKittrick Simmons Jr. The bride's sister Miss Gregory Catherine Simmons of Washington, D.C., was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were the bride's sisters Miss Karen Anderson Simmons of Atlanta, Miss Sarah Johnson Simmons of Chapel Hill, N.C., bride's sister-in-law Mrs. Meredith Bailey Simmons of Atlanta, and groom's sister Miss Dorothy Elizabeth Ferguson of Charlottesville, Va. The groom's cousins Miss Isabel and Miss Caroline Cottrill of Jacksonville, Fla., were the flower girls.

The groom's father was the best man. Groomsmen were the groom's friends Mr. Johnson Thomas Bazzel, Mr. Christopher Callaway Ryan Godfrey, and bride's brother Mr. Gregory McKittrick Simmons Jr., all of Atlanta; groom's friends Mr. Hagan Nicolson Dick of Washington, D.C., Mr. Robert Joseph Greenhill V of Charleston, S.C., Mr. John Reagan Neidenbach of Richmond, Va., Mr. Mark Draper Grobmyer of Fayetteville, Ark., Mr. William Everette Mills of Columbia, S.C., and Mr. James Robinson Pearson of New York, N.Y. The bride's nephew Mr. Gregory Simmons of Atlanta was the ring bearer.

The bride carried a six pence from the groom's cousin Mrs. Carol Ann Armstrong.

The groom's parents gave a rehearsal dinner at Highlands Country Club in Highlands, N.C., on the eve of the wedding.

The bride's mother gave a reception at Sweetwater Farm in Highlands, N.C., following the ceremony.

Following a honeymoon to Sea Island, Ga., the couple reside in Denver, Colo.
