Sarah Katherine Fowler and William Roger Williams II were united in marriage at 6 p.m. Aug. 4, 2007, at First Baptist Church in Gainesville. The bride is the daughter of Chris and Joyce Fowler of Gainesville. The groom is the son of Kathy Williams and Mike Williams, both of Gainesville.
The Rev. Dr. Tom Smiley performed the ceremony. Pianist Amy Chambers, vocalists Casey Ryals and Mary Susan Herrington, and organist Della Ruth Johnson presented a program of wedding music.
The bride was presented in marriage by her father. The bride’s friend Brittany Hallowes and the bride’s cousin Anna Lawrence, both of Gainesville, were maids of honor. Bridesmaids were the bride’s friends Alli Strong, Joy Thurman and Mary Susan Herrington, all of Gainesville, the groom’s sister Erin Williams of Gainesville, and the bride’s friends Martha Combs, Sarah Brown, Danielle Wellborn and Amey Kearns, all of Gainesville. The bride’s cousin Carlee Cosper of Gainesville was the flower girl.
The groom’s friends Trey Reeves and Daniel Stribling, both of Gainesville, were the best men. Groomsmen were the bride’s brothers Matt and Michael Fowler, both of Gainesville, and the groom’s friends Andy House, Joseph Wilson, David Menocal, Will Henson, Daniel Caldwell and Brett Fowler, all of Gainesville. The groom’s cousin Matthew Faulk of Dalton was the ring bearer.
The bride wore pearl and diamond earrings, which were a gift from the groom. She carried an heirloom handkerchief that her maternal grandmother, Josephine Cosper carried at her wedding. The handkerchief was also carried by the bride’s mother at her wedding.
The groom’s parents gave a rehearsal dinner at Rudolph’s in Gainesville on the eve of the wedding.
The bride’s parents gave a reception at The Elks Lodge in Gainesville following the ceremony. Jay Gardner was an usher. Molly Powell and Katie Clark were program attendants. Beth Lawrence was the wedding coordinator.Rebecca Lawrence and Caitlin Cosper kept the bride’s book.
Following a wedding trip to Asheville, N.C., the couple resides in Athens.
