Ray Baker of Hoschton has been named to the president’s list at Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, Tenn. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Baker.

The following Hall County students have been awarded academic honors from Piedmont College in Demorest. To qualify as dean’s scholars, students must earn a 4.0 grade point average. Dean’s scholars: Delana Kimbrell of Clermont; Ashley C. Fellers, Brandi Syfan, Natasha Martin, Sarah Lane, Gregory Janney, Cally Dunnett and Kalen D. Fletvher, all of Gainesville; Christy Louann Pruitt of Gillsville. Dean’s list students: Lauren Armour and Staci Smith, both of Clermont; Maria A. Arenas, Shirley Adcock and Brandon Mahaffey, all of Flowery Branch; Hannah Colette Reaume, Amanda Porter, Lauren B. Evans, James E. Evans and Will Begnaud, all of Gainesville; and Holly Farmer, Brooke Smith and James McGuigan, all of Murrayville.

The following area students have been named to the dean’s list at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, S.C. Amelia G. Hammond of Gainesville; Hunter J. Roop of Commerce; and Curt A. Slocum of Toccoa.

Jennifer Shook has been named to the provost’s honor roll at the University of Miami for the fall 2007 semester. To receive this honor, students must be full-time and attain a 3.75 grade point average or higher. She is the daughter of Randy and Susan Shook of Gainesville.
