Nurse speaks at Newcomers meeting recently

In honor of Memorial Day, Gainesville Newcomers club had Donna C. Rowe speak at its May luncheon.

Rowe served as head nurse in a triage unit in Saigon from 1968-1969. She spoke about her experiences with such passion, helping people understand some of the exhaustion, pain and filth she endured for 369 days as well as the many lives saved. Rowe is featured in the World Film Festival Documentary, “In the Shadow of the Blade” segment at Smithsonian’s American History.
