Firehouse Subs is coming back to Spout Springs Road in Flowery Branch.
The sandwich shop has a “Coming Soon” banner in front of a storefront at 5900 Spout Springs Road next to Planet Smoothie in a small strip shopping center near Publix.
The restaurant could open by mid-summer, Firehouse spokeswoman Claire Marshall said.
The site was chosen because it’s in “a newer building with better traffic flow given the close proximity to the Publix shopping center,” Marshall said in an email.
The 1,700-square-foot restaurant will have seating for about 25 customers and will employ 15 workers, she said.
Franchisee Brett Black, who couldn’t be reached for comment, also has a location in Gainesville and one in Cumming, Marshall said.
The Flowery Branch store opening comes nearly two years after Firehouse closed a location across the street next to Stonebridge Village shopping center.
“We are trying diligently to find another location nearby and hope to reopen within a year in that new location,” the restaurant sign on the closed business stated at the time. “We sincerely thank you for the amazing seven years that we have had the pleasure of serving you, and hope that we will see you again in a better place soon.”
