Joann Wehunt of Lula and Pat and Ronnie Wehunt of Gainesville announce the engagement of their daughter Lauren Amanda Wehunt to Lonni Leonard Lewis Blanton III, son of Monique and Leonard Lewis Blanton Jr. of Snellville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Gene Cordell of Gainesville, the late Joyce Cordell, Willie Lois Wehunt of Gainesville and the late Howard Wehunt.

She is a 2003 graduate of East Hall High School in Gainesville. She graduated in 2008 from North Georgia College & State University in Dahlonega with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education and special education. She is employed as a special education teacher with Sardis Elementary School in Gainesville.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Leonie Gruet of Meru, France, the late Jean Van Melkebecke and the late Hazel and Leonard Lewis Blanton Sr.

He is a 1998 graduate of Shiloh High School in Snellville. He graduated in 2004 from Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta with a bachelor's degree in construction management. He is employed as a project engineer with O'Neal Constructors in Greenville, S.C.

The couple plan to wed June 27, 2009, at Cottrell Ranch in Dahlonega.
