Jeff and Kristi Smith of Carnesville announce the engagement of their daughter Lauren Elizabeth Smith to Scott Nicholas DeLozier, son of Nick and Lori DeLozier of Gainesville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Karen Thompson and the late Bruce Thompson of Toccoa, and the late Debbie Poole of Carnesville and the late Quinnin Smith of Chatsworth.

She is a 2007 graduate of Franklin County High School in Carnesville. She graduated in 2009 from Athens Technical College as a certified medical assistant. She is pursuing a bachelor's degree at North Georgia College & State University in psychology. She is employed at Country Cafe off the square in Dahlonega.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Don and Sylvia DeLozier of Gainesville, and Rodney and Betty Veselica of Cleveland.

He is a 2006 graduate of Heritage Academy in Oakwood. He is pursuing a bachelor's degree at North Georgia College & State University in business management. He is employed by Tower Sealants in Gainesville and U.S. Army National Guard.

The couple plan to wed Nov. 19, 2011, at The Jim Walters Barn in Lula.
