Mr. and Mrs. Michael Shepherd of Duluth announce the engagement of their daughter Miss Kendra Marie Shepherd to Mr. Wesley Calvin Jackson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Jackson of Gainesville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Shepherd of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Mr. and Mrs. E.J. Snider of Chelsea, Okla.

She is a 2005 graduate of Duluth High School in Duluth. She plans to graduate in May 2009 from the University of Georgia in Athens with a bachelor's degree in banking and finance.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Calvin Jackson of Ellijay, the late Mr. Calvin L. Jackson and the late Mr. and Mrs. O.L. Smith.

He is a 2005 graduate of North Hall High School in Gainesville. He plans to graduate in May 2009 from the University of Georgia in Athens with a bachelor's degree in finance and English.

The couple plan to wed May 23, 2009, at the bride's parent's residence in Duluth.
