The Rev. and Mrs. Michael Saffels of McDonough announce the engagement of their daughter Miss Angelyn Michelle Saffels to Mr. Michael Henry Vaughan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Doug Vaughan of Gainesville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Jones of Macon and Mrs. Anna Wayne Saffels of Atalla, Ala.

She is a 2004 graduate of Eagle's Landing High School in McDonough. She graduated in 2008 from the University of Georgia in Athens with a bachelor's degree in science. She is completing a dietetic internship in Augusta to become a registered dietitian.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Mary Duncan of Marietta and Mrs. Faye Bickers of Madison, Ind.

He is a 2004 graduate of Johnson High School in Gainesville. He graduated in 2008 from the University of Georgia in Athens with a bachelor's degree in science. He is pursuing a degree in medicine at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta.

The couple plan to wed April 4, 2009, at Towaliga Baptist Church in Jackson.
