Bobby Wayne and Tammy Johnson Ivey of Cornelia announce the engagement of their daughter Megan Elizabeth Ivey to Spencer Griffith Arnold, son of Paul and Linda "Lin" Arnold of Gainesville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Robert and Mildred Ivey of Montgomery, Ala., Shirley Johnson of Huntsville, Ala., and the late Joe Johnson.

She is a 2004 graduate of Habersham Central High School in Mount Airy. She graduated in 2008 from the University of Georgia in Athens with a bachelor’s degree in communication sciences and disorders. She is pursuing a master’s degree in speech language pathology from the University of Georgia.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Ruth I. Arnold of Enola, Pa., the late Charles L. Arnold and the late Karl and Mary Gammell.

He is a 2005 graduate of Johnson High School in Gainesville. He graduated in 2009 from the University of Georgia in Athens with a bachelor’s degree in religion. He will attend Dallas Theological Seminary in Dallas in August. He is employed as a youth pastor with Jefferson First United Methodist Church in Jefferson.

The couple plan to wed June 5, 2010, at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Clarkesville.
