Mack and Frances Collins of Gainesville announce the engagement of their daughter Jessica Ann Collins to James Derrick Knight, son of Johnny and Judy Knight of Gainesville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Clarence and Hazel Smith and the late Austin and Goldie Collins.

She is a 2005 graduate of East Hall High School in Gainesville. She graduated in 2007 from Gainesville State College in Oakwood with an associate's degree in early childhood education. She is attending North Georgia State College & University in Dahlonega.

The groom-elect is the grandson of James and Wynelle Ransom of Gainesville and the late Pauline and Herbert Knight.

He is a 1998 graduate of Maranatha Christian Academy of Oakwood. He attended Gainesville State College majoring in computer science. He is employed as a quality technician with General Motors in Doraville.

The couple plan to wed Nov. 22, 2008, at Pond Fork Baptist Church in Pendergrass.
